There are so many things that can be done online and before, one should only hope in using Adobe Photoshop or any other offline programs to edit their photos. Today, the online solution lies on a website called Picnik.

The site was founded earlier in 2005 and was recently purchased by Google on the first day of March 2010. Its headquarters lie in Washington, USA.

Registration is not needed to utilize its service. Users can also import their photos from social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace. In fact, photos can also be obtained through websites such as Flickr and Picasa.

Picnik allows basic editing to be done online. This includes cropping, resizing and many more. There are also various effects such as vignette, sepia and some others that can be used by the user as well.

Users are given two choices of Picnik, the free or premium version. Premium version has added feature that would be good for the tech savvy. However, we find that the free version would suit those wanting to do some basic editing on the Internet.

The site uses the latest version of flash and no previous version is accepted. Downloading the latest version of flash do not take a long time and with a decent broadband, it can be as quickly as 5 minutes.
